attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge
of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ… for in Him dwells all
the fullness of the Godhead bodily" Col.2:2,9.
IF JESUS IS NOT JEHOVAH IT MEANS THAT GOD DOESN'T LOVE US!
Let's imagine for a moment that Christ is created and by one Biblical example
we'll understand absurdity of such a thought. There is one story in the Old Testament:
"…Then two loose women of the town came and took their places before the
king; and one of them said, O my lord, I and this woman are living in the same
house; and I gave birth to a child by her side in the house. And three days after
the birth of my child, this woman had a child: we were together, no other-person
was with us in the house but we two only. In the night, this woman, sleeping on
her child, was the cause of its death. And she got up in the middle of the night
and took my son from my side while your servant was sleeping; and she took it
in her arms and put her dead child in my arms. And when I got up to give my child
the breast, I saw that it was dead; but in the morning, looking at it with care,
I saw that it was not my son. And the other woman said, No; but the living child
is my son and the dead one yours. But the first said, No; the dead child is your
son and the living one mine. So they kept on talking before the king. Then the
king said, One says, the living child is my son, and yours is the dead: and the
other says, Not so; but your son is the dead one and mine is the living. Then
he said, Get me a sword. So they went and put a sword before the king. And the
king said, Let the living child be cut in two and one half given to one woman
and one to the other. Then the mother of the living child came forward, for her
heart went out to her son, and she said, O my lord, give her the child; do not
on any account put it to death. But the other woman said, it will not be mine
or yours; let it be cut in two. Then the king made answer and said, give her the
child, and do not put it to death; she is the mother of it." 1 Kings 3:16-27.
You see, the loving mother was ready for everything! Why the first one was in
agitation? Because her son was taken from her, flesh from her flesh. The second
one stood still because nothing connected her with this child. Now let's imagine
that Christ is God's Son only by His definition, but in all other aspects He is
also a creation, only the first one. So tell me, where do you see God's love to
people if This is His Son only by definition, but in all other aspects He is an
Archangel. Then God doesn't love people, He could create millions of such archangels
and send each one for each human! Christ is not a creation but a Creator (Jew.1:8-12)
If a mother says that loves her child, but all his childhood was far away from
him and gave the charge of him to another woman, that's not love. When a father
loves his son and it will be necessary to sacrifice a life for him, he will never
ask a close friend to do it, but, loving him, will go and sacrifice himself. The
same happens with God's love. God, loving people, didn't send a "first secretary"
for us, but came Himself! (1Tim.3:16).
If you know the Scriptures too little, but you would like to help Jehovah
Witness, there are two pieces of advice for you:
a) With help of this book you will know how to talk with a Jehovah Witness about
the Holy Spirit, because this is the easies theme. Jehovah Witnesses have only
two arguments which they use to reject His existence as a Personality. Also you'll
make your interlocutor make a conclusion that we can speak about the Trinity only
when the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit are personalities, because we cannot
connect the Father and the Son with the Force to make them three. Especially important
is to speak only about one theme during the conversation. Only after you find
a denominator you can pass to another theme.
b) If you cannot operate with doctrines, we advice you to read the outline of
the book "Talking to Jehovah Witnesses with love" Wilbur(a) Lingle,
where you'll get a lot of information for yourself and them about the Organization
which says it is a faithful God's slave.
Why for the beginning the second way is better? Because a Jehovah Witness is not
ready to speak about it, but you need just a few knowledge. You just ask questions,
sowing a lot of doubts by them. And one more, if you choose doctrines, any Jehovah
Witness have formatted answers. During the talk he won't listen to you, thinking
beforehand that you're not right. He will just wait for a moment to get a possibility
to say the next idea, learned by heart. The theme which we advice you below implies
that a Jehovah Witness is not ready to give you an answer, but it will be uncomfortable
for him to ask someone, because by this he would express doubts about "faithful
slave".
In fact all the talk consists of your questions you need to learn. The purpose
is to make a Jehovah Witness think himself and sow doubts about loyalty of "Organization"
towards God.
FIRST OF ALL YOU HAVE TO KNOW THAT JEHOVAH WITNESSES:
1. Went to elections and took part in politics. Served in army and took part
in wars in 1939.
2. Made holidays (Christmas was canceled after 60 years of existence of the
Organization).
3. Smoked till 1973 (Alcohol is still allowed).
4. Till 1945 were not against blood transfusion. There are known lethal cases
of members of the cult because of refusing to make a blood transfusion. Many parents
protested when doctors wanted to transfuse their children's blood. These parents
were agreed to let their children die, only not to allow a doctor to make them
a blood transfusion.
5. Till 1931 they were not called "Jehovah Witnesses" but were the students
of the Bible. That's why the name Jehovah was not used and preached as it is today.
6. Till definite time Russell was a "faithful slave", after some time
it became a definite class of people. The way of choosing people is still not
known by anyone.
7. Taught that Jesus is crucified on cross.
8. Worshiped and prayed to Christ.
9. Believed that everyone goes to Heaven.
10. Explained Rom.13:1, to Heaven powers, until Raterford died.
11. They foreboded an invisible return of Christ in 1874.
12. In 1967 and 1968 Jehovah Witnesses' leader Natan Knorr in "The Watchtower"
announced (on 15 Nov and 8 June accordingly) that organ transplantation to people
is forbidden by God and is equal to cannibalism. But after Knorr's death another
leader, Frederic France in 1980 announced in the same magazine (15 March) that
organ transplantation to people is not forbidden by God and is not equal to cannibalism.
13. They say that they are the only Organization preaching Gospel of Kingdom,
but they started printing the Bible only in 1961. Before this time they read Bibles,
printed in Christian confessions. So a question appears: who extended the Gospel
before? (Although now they are diffused in 200 countries, there were no case,
when they would start working with any tribe and print the Gospel for them after
learning it's language).
All the changes, accepted later were contradictory to previous. All this is
explained by "new light", received from God basing on the next verse:
"But the way of the upright is like the light of early morning, getting brighter
and brighter till the full day" Pr.4:18. Because people are not perfect it
is peculiar to people to make mistakes. Using examples of Moses, Peter and Paul
they assert that they were also mistaking in their lives, that's why the "Organization"
may be justified in its mistakes.
Talking to a Jehovah Witness we must explain him that if these men of belief made
mistakes, they made them in everyday common life. None of them made mistakes in
the Scriptures, written by them under encouragement of the Holy Spirit. And even
this verse does not justify contradictory changes, but otherwise. Let's imagine
that you see something white and rectangular in the end of a tunnel. If "the
way of the uprights is getting brighter and brighter", after coming closer
you'd understand that it is a white door, not a black watch. The same approach
should take place with "new light" of the "God's Organization".
Let's imagine that "the way of the uprights is getting brighter and brighter"
towards blood transfusion. After "enlightenment" it will be understandable
that we may get blood only from our brothers by belief, but not that blood transfusion
is sin, announcing that the "Organization" is a sinner, because sinned
with this sin for 26 years. Also concerning holidays: if the way of uprights started
brightening for the Organization, the revelation could be as follows: we cannot
drink alcohol on holidays, because pharaoh Herod under the influence of wine killed
innocent people. Accent could be set on drinking wine, but not that a holiday
is a sin, permitting that the Organization lived in a sin for a very long time.
Why God didn't send light for so many years?
QUESTIONS:
1. Why did you become a Jehovah Witness? Show me arguments which make you think
that they're right.
1.1) - They don't believe in trinity.
- But Mormons and Moon sect, International way also reject trinity. It means you're
the same as they are.
1.2) - It is the only organization, standing against wars and army.
- Adventist and Mormons are also against wars and armies.
1.3) - It is the only organization, standing against blood transfusion.
- Christian science is also against them But if in 1919 God said that Jehovah
Witnesses is the true organization, what for were needed 26 years of examining
the Bible to forbid blood transfusion in 1945?
1.4) - we are the only who preach God's Kingdom!
- Mormons and all the Christians, born from above preach the Kingdom. It is strange
how today rulers are acting in this kingdom and how will they rule from Heaven?
Have you got any more arguments?
1.5) - Yes, we are the only who have a visible God's organization.
- In Church of unity, Catholics and Mormons also have an organization.
1.6) - We are the only who use the name of Jehovah.
- Here you're not right again. It became used from 1931. And also you say yourself
that it is not the right sounding of letters YHWH.
1.7) - We are the only who prove everything by the Bible.
- It is not an argument, because everyone uses the Bible.
1.8) - we are united.
- The Church of unity and Mormons predominate in this question. So, why you became
a Jehovah Witness??...
2. the Kingdom will be ruled by the Organization, but how, if members of the organization
are not taught to rule and there are no schools of teaching? ...
3. Why God created the Organization only after 1900 years? Is the Bible such a
difficult book that its authors need to be explained?
4. Why God created the Bible only for 14000 and excluded so many people?
5. Do you read any other books? \ - No \ - There many references to secular books.
Do you have to read them to refer to them? \ - Yes \ - Why someone can read them
but you don't?
6. You say that in Acts is the true church and Organization. Where was it after
70 year when Jerusalem was destroyed? (There is no evidence that somewhere existed
true united God's organization).
7. In times of writing Revelation a true church existed. If we count the amount
of people, anointed by the Holy Spirit, this number would be more than 200000
believers. So where from new vacant places appeared in 1900? (Let's count: *Acts
2:41 - 3000; *Acts 2:47 - and every day the number of those who had salvation
was increased by the Lord; *Acts 4:4 - 5000; *Acts 9:42; 17:12; 19:18 - a number
of people; *Acts 13:48 - many; *Acts 21:20 - many thousands. There were churches
in Galatia, Italy, Ponte, Cappadocia, Asia, Spain and Greece. Only in one century's
time there were 5 million Jehovah Witnesses. And we think that the apostle church
worked better in this direction!)
8. The book of Revelation and this number of 144000 appeared only in 100. Did
the apostle church preach about this number and "faithful slave"?
9. If people got to know that there's a definite chosen class of people only in
100 year by the book of Revelation, what was preached before? Which hope was offered
to all believers? To be on Earth or in Heaven? (Philippians 3:20 а 1Phes.4:13-17)
10. How people got to know that vacant places for chosen ended in 1935?
11. Who dealt with census of the chosen class?
12. If God chose 144000 before 1935, the principle of choosing should be based
on fruits. But today Jehovah Witnesses say that before 1935 the Organization had
heathen ideology. How God could allow people who take part in politics, celebrate
holidays and allow blood transfusion appeared among "faithful slave."
13. If the time of heathens ended in 1914, how heathens could join "faithful
slave" till 1935?
14. Why do you teach about two ways of salvation? For 144000 it is free entrance
to Heaven and everlasting life without going from one house to another, but the
others have to wait and hope!
15. You say that Heaven is a boring place and people have nothing to do there?
But if Christ himself will give the Kingdom to God and Father, what will 144000
do?
16. There are no more vacant places for 144000. What would you do if all of them
die? If they think out something new, how it happened with blood transfusion and
other changes. Wouldn't you be confused if you stay without the ruling corporation?
17. All kind and severe die. In time of 1000 years kingdom kind and severe resurrect,
so where is requital and blessing?
18. Many Jehovah Witnesses were excluded for their sins which appeared to be a
mistake of the Organization. Did it apologize in front of them and what will happen
with excluded people? (In 1961 people were excluded for organ transplantations,
but in 1980 they gave permission to organ transplantation).
19. Jehovah Witnesses teach that the punishment for sin is usual death. But how
Jehovah Witnesses who go through Armageddon will pay for their sins? Many people
will resurrect after Armageddon because they have paid for their sins, but what
will do those who went trough it?
20. Jehovah Witnesses teach that they always receive "new light" and
sometimes it means that the "old one" is wrong. How big is possibility
that today's positions won't become lie tomorrow?
21. How people in Brooklyn receive the "new light"? Can they make a
mistake once again?
22. In 1000 years period Jehovah Witnesses who believed in the "new light"
of 20th years will resurrect, that "light" greatly differs from today's
"light". How Jehovah Witnesses ill understand each other? Will they
have unity?
23. From 1970 to 1995 a third part of Jehovah Witnesses left the Organization.
Why there are so many unsatisfied if there is atmosphere of love?
24. The ruling corporation. How many people there are? How people get there? Why
was it created only in 1971, but 90 years it didn't need any? Why there were only
Americans for a long time?
25. If the Organization is the only channel to explain the Bible, why God waited
for 1900 years and kept people in darkness?
26. Do you have your own specialist in Greek language? (No).
27. Will there be roads on the new Earth? Show me any picture with road.
28. In 1000 years period those Jehovah Witnesses who went through Armageddon will
build houses for others, but it is in contrast with Isaiah 65:21-22: "And
they shall build houses, and inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, and
eat the fruit of them. They shall not build, and another inhabit; they shall not
plant, and another eat: for as the days of a tree are the days of my people, and
mine elect shall long enjoy the work of their hands." Do you want to go trough
Armageddon and build houses for ex-criminals?
29. Jesus always appealed to God as to Father, why the Organization teaches us
to call Him Jehovah, if Jesus taught us the prayer "our Father"?
30. Where in Scriptures is written that God's Son is the Archangel Michael? (There
are no such words in the Scriptures, the Organization made this decision which
may be changed in future).
31. Do you work with possessed people? How can you help them?
32. In the magazine "Jehovah Witnesses in XX century" on 7th page we
can see the following words: "Although all that was awaited didn't come to
be, this year marked the end of times of heathens and became a noticeable year".
Can we make a conclusion from these words that the "faithful slave"
prophesized and later it appeared to be lie?
33. In the book "You can live forever in Paradise on Earth" on 154th
page it is affirmed that people who lived in 1914 will be alive after this evil
system comes to an end. Is it the next "mistake" of the slave?
34. 607 B.C. marks the time of collapsing Jerusalem by Babylon conqueror Nebuchadnezzar.
All historians show the date 20 years later. This date can be seen only in your
publications, why? (It is a very important question, because all calculations
about the end of heathens' times are wrong! Also science proved that our era is
late for several years because of one Catholic monk's mistake while switching
from one to another calendar).
You don't have to ask right answers to all the questions, because the purpose
of questions is to sow doubts and make a Jehovah Witness think himself. Also ask
more spiritual questions, for which Jehovah Witnesses have the only answer: "That's
not for us but for 144000". Ask them to explain you Luke17:20-21; John 6:48-58;
7:37-39; Eph.2:5-6; 6:10-13; Gal.2:19-20; 5:22-24; Rom.8:5-12; 1Pet.1:3-5; Philippians
1:21-24.
IS PAUL A BLASPHEMER?
Jehovah Witnesses may imagine that they have found a Jewish library and have
found out the reasons because of which Jewish people rejected Christ-Messiah.
That's what they write: "After death of Christ from Nazareth sect of his
followers received a new leader Saul from Tarsus. He visited synagogues of Judea
and preached by the name of Jesus whom he considered to be Messiah. Jews stayed
indifferent to Saul's sermons. They couldn't accept Christ as godlike Messiah
because this was opposite to basic principle of Judaism - monotheism" ("By
paths of Jewish history" Ruth Samuele; Israel, 1991, p.130). Jews say that
Paul talked about Christ as about God. And as well as then today, together with
Jehovah Witnesses, they cannot understand that Paul preached not polytheism but
monotheism (Single God, opening Himself in three Personalities).
Paul writes: "And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has enabled me, for
that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; who was before a blasphemer,
and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly
in unbelief." 1Tim.1:12-13. From these verses of the Scripture we have two
arguments, saying that Paul believed in deity of Jesus Christ: 1) He prays (thanks)
to Jesus; 2) We also read that Paul says about himself as about a blasphemer.
Blasphemer is someone who abuses God. Saul is from Tarsus, a strict Pharisee (Acts
22:3; Philippians 3:4-5), he would never abuse God, but he abused Jesus Christ.
Here he said that it was blaspheming. So, we can see that he believed in deity
of Christ.
Remember John 16:15 "All things that the Father has are mine…"
And also that Jesus Christ was crucified not for resurrecting dead people,
not for giving blind people ability to see, not for healing lame people. Jesus
was crucified for calling Himself God (John 10:33; Matthew 26:62-66).
(To speak about deity of Christ with a Jehovah Witness is very difficult, but
it is easier to speak about the Personality of the Holy Spirit, because Jehovah
Witnesses just don't have any arguments).
The Holy Spirit.
* "Concerning the Holy Spirit, who is called the third face of Trinity,
we see that it's not personality but God's acting power. John the Baptist said
that Jesus will baptize by the Holy Spirit as he baptized by water. So, the same
as water is not personality, the Holy Spirit is not personality (Mat.3:11). John's
prophecy came to be when after Christ's death and resurrection the Holy Spirit
came down from Heaven to His disciples, gathered in Jerusalem. The Bible says:
"And they were all full of the Holy Spirit" (Acts 2:4). "They became
full of personality? No, they became full of God's acting power."
(*8/page 40)
DOES THE HOLY SPIRIT EXIST?
Basing on words above, Jehovah Witnesses come to conclusion that the Holy
Spirit is not personality. They are in the same ignorance as disciples in Ephesus:
"And he said to them, did you get the Holy Spirit when you had faith? And
they said to him, No, we have had no knowledge of the Holy Spirit." Acts19:2.
Can someone who believe in God ask other believers: "Have you received God's
power?", but they answer: "We even didn't hear, whether God has power
of not"? ... Paradox! But for Jehovah Witnesses it is possible. Today Witnesses
even don't hear: Whether there's the Holy Spirit or not? But in contrast to them,
disciples in Ephesus received it.
THE HOLY SPIRIT AND GOD'S POWER
Rasselits say that the Holy Spirit is power from God. What does the Scripture
say? - "How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with
power" Acts10:38, "Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace
in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost."
Rom.15:13. (What, power of power?) It is written: "Not by might, nor by power,
but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts." Zech.4:6. "For our gospel
came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost…"
1Thes.1:5. "But truly I am full of power by the spirit of the LORD, and of
judgment, and of might…" Mic.3:8. Read the next verses 2Cor.6:3-7. There
you'll find that apostles showed themselves as God's servants in the Holy Spirit
and God's power. The context itself borders God's power and the Holy Spirit. If
someone says that he has a wife, a house and a car and enumerates this in one
sentence it doesn't mean that his wife is not a personality. Enumerating of the
Holy Spirit together with lifeless objects doesn't make it God's power! "On
Pentecost people became full of personality?" - ask Jehovah Witnesses. Yes,
because the verb "were filled with" better that other verbs explain
man's dedication to God. The more a man gives himself under God's leading the
more God becomes apparent through him, it means fulfills him with His presence.
They compare Luke 24:49 with Acts1:4, 5 to prove that Spirit is power. Read the
context and you'll see that there's written that people were not endues by power
but by the Holy Spirit and gaining power will be right after enduing. Foe example:
you'll get money right after a postman come to you. But himself he's not a dollar.
God is called power (Ps.59:17) and also Christ (1Cor.1:24), but do they stop
to be personalities?
NOT ACCEPTING THE HOLY SPIRIT AS A PERSONALITY IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO ACCEPT
JESUS CHRIST AS GOD.
Why so many people reject Christ as God? One of the answers: those who reject
Christ cannot accept his godhead, because they reject the Holy Spirit who is the
third personality of God. It is difficult for them to say Thomas' words: "My
Lord and my God" because they don't mention the Spirit, they reject it as
Personality: "Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by
the Spirit of God calls Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is
the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit." 1Cor.12:3. Words which Thomas told Jesus:
"My Lord and my God!" John 20:28 are not just expression of amazement
or astonishment, but testifying of his belief. Christ accepter this testifying,
didn't correct him, it means that he considered Himself to be God. Such words
as Thomas said Jehovah Witnesses would never repeat, addressing them to Jesus,
because they profess that the Holy Spirit is just God's energy, a radio wave,
coming from Him. Through such people the Holy Spirit would never speak! Calling
the Spirit a usual energy coming from God they hurt and offend Him. Isn't it so?
It is one thing when you call someone a idler and completely another when you
tell him that there's no word in the world to express who is he, that he doesn't
exist, that he is a "walking shadow" or an "alive corpse".
I think that anyone would agree with me that the last words are more offensive.
But don't they treat the Holy Spirit the same way? One thing is to say something
against Him and completely another to say that He is none and nothing: that He
is energy! This offence can insensibly transform into blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.
A usual man cannot abuse the Holy Spirit, it can do only a religious person.
WHO SHOULD WE LOVE MORE: ENERGY OR SON?
A true father always loves his son more than himself. Isn't it so? Wouldn't
he give everything for him? Let's think about one verse's sense: "Wherefore
I say unto you, all manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but
the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever
speaks a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever
speaks against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world,
neither in the world to come." Mat.12:31, 32. By the doctrine of Jehovah
Witnesses it appears that God will stay calm of someone abuses His Son, but if
someone says something against His energy (against Him), that someone will die!
Is it a loving God? How can He respect His "energy" more than His Son?
The Holy Spirit is a personality! God compares His only Son with the Holy Spirit
and we can offend the Holy Spirit as well as the Son. So, the Holy Spirit is Personality
as well as the Son is! He is Someone, not something; He is Personality, but not
energy!
* "The Holy Spirit cannot be equal to the Son because blaspheming the first
one cannot be forgiven, but blaspheming the second one can be forgiven" -
say Jehovah Witnesses. If "blaspheming the Holy Spirit" in this verse
is set off against other ways of blaspheming (including blaspheming the Godfather),
following the logic of Jehovah Witnesses, we can say that the Godfather is less
than the Holy Spirit and Jehovah is not God. The fact that the Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit have different roles in a believer's salvation is not a basement
for rejecting Christ's deity. Without accusation of our sins by the Holy Spirit,
without revival to Christian life we cannot be saved. If punishment for blaspheming
the Holy Spirit is more serious than for blaspheming the Father, Jesus Christ
or someone else, it is God's will. It doesn't say about any inferiority of divine
Jesus' nature in comparison with the Father and doesn't say that the Holy Spirit
is energy.
(11/page10)
In Mat.12:31, 32 Jesus says that God who forgives has power to make a choice.
Something said against Him He would forgive, but won't forgive anything said against
the Holy Spirit. In salvation the Holy Spirit plays the main role. Through Jesus
was born, carried His service and was arisen. While being on Earth Christ says
about Him: "It is better if I go so that He could come and be in you",
showing phased approaching of God to man. On Sinai God spoke from Heaven, In Bethlehem
God became near man, after Pentecost God not only approached man, but also defined
to live in him (1Cor.3:16). God prophesies that He will take root in a man (compare
Leviticus 26:12 with 2Cor.6:16, 18), that's exactly what the Holy Spirit does.
By blaspheming Him a man exposes himself to eternal judgment, the same as Pharisees
did by blaspheming the Holy Spirit living in Jesus Christ (Mark 3:28-30).
*******
( * Verses in which about the Holy Spirit is said by impersonal verbs ("streamed",
"as wind", "filled") they understand word to word, not looking
at clear figurativeness of these phrases. From the other side all verses where
about the Holy Spirit is said as about a personality, Witnesses explain as "metaphors".
If we'll accept the same logic to other places of the Scripture a lot of serious
troubles would appear. Also, such figurative language is used in verses about
Christ: "baptized into Christ" Gal.3:27; Rom.6:3; "I am poured
out like water" Ps.22:14. "But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ"
Rom.13:14. By understanding these words word to word and by understanding of all
the others in which is said about Personality of Jesus as artistic turns of speech
we can refute even that Jesus Christ is Personality. (*11/page10)
The Scripture says it with a surprising simplicity. The Holy Spirit has mind,
feelings and will:
PROMISE OF COMING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
"And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter,
that he may abide with you for ever" John14:16. "But when the Comforter
is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth,
which proceeds from the Father, he shall testify of me" John 15:26. "It
is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will
not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you." John16:7.
(Comforter - Greek "paracletos"- someone who supports a deal, which
was begun by his predecessor, helps him. This word is met 5 times in the New Testament.
4 times it is used by Jesus, meaning the Holy Spirit, and once in 1John2:1 in
connection with Jesus.)

PERSONAL CHARACTERISTIC FEATURES AND BEHAVIOUR ASCRIBED TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
1. Knowledge: But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit
searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knows the things
of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows
no man, but the Spirit of God." 1Cor.2:10-11.
2. Will: "But all these works that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing
to every man severally as he will." 1Cor.12:11.
3. Thought: "And he that searches the hearts knows what is the mind of the
Spirit, because he makes intercession for the saints according to the will of
God." Rom.8:27.
4. Love: "Now I beseech you, brethren, for the Lord Jesus Christ's sake,
and for the love of the Spirit, that ye strive together with me in your prayers
to God for me." Rom.15:30.
5. Mind and virtue: "Thou gavest also thy good spirit to instruct them, and
withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst."
Neh.9:20.
6. Grieve: "And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed
unto the day of redemption." Eph.4:30.
The Holy Spirit thinks, feels, has intentions, knows, commands, loves, grieves.
All this mean that the Holy Spirit is Personality, not only influence and force.
CRIMES AGAINST HIM AS AGAINST PERSONALITY ARE MENTIONED IN THE HOLY SCRIPTURE.
1. Grief: "But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he
was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them." Is.63:10.
2. Offence: "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed
unto the day of redemption." Eph.4:30.
3. Lie: "But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie
to the Holy Ghost" Acts5:3.
4. Blasphemy: "…but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven
unto men." Mat.12:31.
DIVINE ATTRIBUTES
1. Eternity: "…the eternal Spirit…" Heb.9:14.
2. Omnipotence: "…he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken
your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." Rom.8:11.
3. Omniscience: "But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the
Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. even so the things of
God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God." 1Cor.2:10-11.
4. Omnipresence: "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I
flee from thy presence?" Ps.139:7.
DIVINE ACTIONS
1. Creation: "The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty
hath given me life." Job33:4.
2. Giving life: "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing:
the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life." John6:63.
3. Resurrection and revival: "But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus
from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also
quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you." Rom.8:11.
4. Rebirth: "Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water
and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born
of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit." John3:5-6.
5. Casting out devils: "But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then
the kingdom of God is come unto you." Mat.12:28.
6. He is the author of divine prophesies: "For the prophecy came not in old
time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy
Ghost." 2Pet.1:21.
STATEMENTS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT CONCERNING JEHOVAH HAVE A CERTAIN ATTITUDE
TO THE HOLY SPIRIT IN THE NEW TESTAMENT
"…thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness." Ps.143:10.
"…there is none good but one, that is, God." Mark10:18.

"Also I heard the voice of the Lord… And he said, Go, and tell this people,
Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make
the heart of this people fat, and make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes;
lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their
heart, and convert, and be healed." Is.6:8-10.
"…Well spake the Holy Ghost by Esaias the prophet unto our fathers, Saying,
Go unto this people, and say, Hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand;
and seeing ye shall see, and not perceive: For the heart of this people is waxed
gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes have they closed; lest
they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with
their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them." Acts 28:25-27.

"Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation
in the wilderness: When your fathers tempted me, proved me, and saw my work. Forty
years long was I grieved with this generation, and said, It is a people that do
err in their heart, and they have not known my ways" Ps.95:8-10.
"…as the Holy Ghost saith, To day if ye will hear his voice, Harden not your
hearts, as in the provocation, in the day of temptation in the wilderness: Wherefore
I was grieved with that generation, and said, They do alway err in their heart;
and they have not known my ways" Heb.3:7-10.

"…But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel;
After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and
write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people."
Jer.31:33.
"…Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said
before, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith
the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write
them." Heb.10:15-16.

THE HOLY SPIRIT = CHRIST'S SPIRIT
"Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was
in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and
the glory that should follow." 1Pet.1:11. (comp.Is.53; Dan.9:2,23;12:8-9)(Which
Spirit spoke through prophets: Christ's Spirit or God's Spirit?) "But ye
are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell
in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his."
Rom.8:9. (Whose Spirit should we have, Christ's or God's?).
HIS NAME IS USED IN COMBINATION WITH GOD'S NAME
"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion
of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen." 2Cor.13:13. "Elect according
to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit,
unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and
peace, be multiplied." 1Pet.1:2. "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations,
baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost"
Mat.28:19. (The speech goes about three Personalities, not about Two + Force).
What's Spirit's name? In 2Cor.3:17 the Spirit is named with Jehovah's name. We
have proved above that the Holy Spirit Himself is Jehovah. That's why we can conclude
that name "Jehovah" belongs to the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit
in equal extent. Names of devils are also not mentioned, but it doesn't say that
they're not personalities.
THE HOLY SPIRIT IS GOD
"But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to
the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? ... thou hast
not lied unto men, but unto God." Acts5:3,5. "Now the Lord is that Spirit:
and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty." 2Cor.3:17.
When you speak with a Witness, sometimes it feels that you speak with an atheist.
In many questions they ask usual: how can it be? How the Holy Spirit, Personality,
could fill 120 people at once? Equally well we can ask him: how did be come to
believe in God, whom he hasn't even seen? How did he come to believe in all miracles,
made by God in the Old and the New Testaments? For Christians it is easy: the
Holy Spirit, being almighty, omnipotent and omnipresent God, could be present
in 120 people at once. God can be cognized not by man's mind, but by God's gift:
belief! And if something is not understandable it doesn't mean that it cannot
be! God can be cognized not by mind, but by heart! The Scripture says: "…no
man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end."
Eccl.3:11. And if God's works are difficult to be found out, how logically can
be founded out the One who does them?
SHOW US AND WE'LL BELIEVE
Don't offend Jehovah's Witnesses the Holy Spirit, calling Him a usual energy?
One thing is to compare Him with something, and completely other to regard Him
as no one! : "Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because
it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you,
and shall be in you." John 14:17. The thing left for Witnesses to say is:
show us Him and we'll believe in Him.
Witnesses are not witnesses of the True and Living God (1John5:20), because for
the question: do they have the Holy Spirit, they say "no". But the Scripture
says: "But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the
Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is
none of his." Rom.8:9. So, the Holy Spirit presents everywhere and we have
to have Him in our spirit (1Cor.3:16 а 6:17). But if they have no Spirit, then
read the whole chapter Rom.8. You'll understand that Jehovah Witnesses live not
in the Spirit, because they have no Spirit. And if they have no Spirit in them,
they live in flesh, but those who live in the flesh cannot please God. (Rom.8:8).
So, where is the exit? It is in rebirth! We have to be born from the Spirit (John3:1-18).
And it is not "conception by the Spirit" as they say, because if it
was so, the conceived one would never do sins, but this was only with Jesus Christ.
Read attentively the 2nd chapter of Acts. 3000 people after repenting were not
conceived by the Spirit, but in that day they became the temples of God and He
started to live in them, in their spirits: "Know ye not that ye are the temple
of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you?" 1Cor.3:16.
Each Christian should testify about his birth from above. We can testify what
the Holy Spirit testifies to our spirit, that we're God's children (Rom.8:14).
We have to speak with Jehovah Witnesses about that birth, about which the Lord
Jesus spoke with Nicodemus in John 3:1-8. The Witness won't agree with you because
he is sure that only 144000 "chosen" have right for this birth. But
Jesus said: "Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto
thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God." John
3:3. In Lord Jesus' words there are no boundaries. "If a man is not born
again" - it means everyone or each! If the theme of birth from above goes
deeper, the Witness asks a sign or healing from a Christian, because on this birth
the Holy Spirit fills us. But the Scripture clearly shows that the one who has
the Spirit is a "miracle-worker": "But the manifestation of the
Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit
the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another
faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;
To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning
of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation
of tongues: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to
every man severally as he will." 1Cor.12:7-11. Signs and miracles are not
necessary. Not the gifts of the Holy Spirit are peculiar to every Christian, but
the fruit of the Holy Spirit (Gal.5:22).
You cannot call God your father if you're not born from Him (it means from
the Spirit)!
(John 3; 1:12).
