Help Charismatics and Pentecostals
By asking simple questions, helping them to think about verity of their religion
Do you know that…
1… “Tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not” (1Cor.14:22), it means that it is not
a sign of baptizing with the Spirit! (The purpose of baptizing with Spirit is not to gain gifts of the Spirit, but to be one body
“For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body” (1Cor.12:13).
2…baptizing with the Spirit always took place in the New Testament together with bearing again? (Peter will say that to
Cornelius happened the same what happened to Apostles at the beginning (Acts.11:15), and then each time not baptizing was taking
place, but filling with the Spirit. Disciples in Ephesus were not born again until meeting with Paul, because in the first century
born again were not left without water baptizing!
3…till 20th century no one taught that baptizing with the Spirit is a separate action from bearing again: and how to pray to
get the Spirit? And if baptizing with the Spirit is the entrance into the church, then the church has appeared just not long
ago? And all men of God in previous centuries had no power of Spirit?
4…tongues are not for all unbelievers (1Cor.14:23)?
5…tongues are for Hebrews? (1Cor.14:21-22: “In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak
unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the LORD. Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that
believe, but to them that believe not” – unto this people, who are Hebrews, that God’s salvation is for every tongue. Because Hebrews
hated heathens, and God through this sign wanted to open their eyes on His love (1Thes.2:14-16)
6…there was only one nation in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecostal? (Acts 2:5)
7…tongues are not for the church, because Paul doesn’t want to use them in the church? (1Cor.14:19,22)
8…that only one can speak tongues in the church (1Cor.14:30-31) and women must keep silence (1Cor.14:34)?
9…there were no two types of speaking tongues? Because in all verses about tongues the same expression is used. If speaking
tongues from messages is different from speaking tongues on the day of Pentecostal, they would have different indications. Speaking
tongues is not changed if it is listed together with signs in Mark 16, as well as the Holy Spirit is not changed if it is listed
together with characters of serving in 2Cor.6:4-7.
10…there are no interpreters in many churches? (Paradox: it is not written to ask for tongues, but tongues are got; it
is written to pray for gift of interpreting, but it is rarely met)
11…Paul didn’t speak tongues of angels, as well as didn’t give his body for burning? (if it is a tongue of angels, how
can a person express it? Do they communicate by sound in space?)
12…“For we walk by faith, not by sight” (2Cor.5:7)
13…you can understand your tongue without interpreters, because after speaking you’re offered to explain what you said, and
only then your gift is equal to prophesying (1Cor.14:5)
14…when it is said “for no man understandeth him”, it is not said that he doesn’t understand himself? Then we should ask
the preacher: have you understood what you have said yourself? (1Cor.14:2)
15…a prophet edifies the church, because the church understands him; it means that a man who speaks tongues edifies himself
only if he understands himself (1Cor.14:4)?
16...an unlearned wouldn’t say “amen” after your thanksgiving, if he doesn’t understand what you say? (1Cor.14:16). It
means that you have no right to say “amen” after your words if you don’t understand yourself!
17…words “understanding is unfruitful” refer to fruit in other man’s understanding, not in mine understanding? Because
“I will pray with the understanding” not for me to understand, but to be understandable for others. And Paul says that he wants to
say 5 words with understanding to edify others. Expression “to bring fruit” in the Scripture means fruit for someone. Fruit of the
Spirit is for us; we bring fruit (it is my fruit), but for God. So, “understanding is unfruitful” doesn’t justify your incomprehension
of the tongue!
18…if you don’t understand the meaning of the words of someone who speaks to you, he’s a stranger for you (1Cor.14:10-11)?
The Holy Spirit is not a stranger, but why you don’t understand Him?
19…the verse Rom.8:26 doesn’t refer to praying in tongues, because “the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings
which cannot be uttered”? Why then yours are uttered?
20…many people say about late rain, but forget that in last days the way of truth shall be evil spoken of, and great signs
and wonders will be shown to deceive the very elect?
21…some Paul’s friends were ill (1Tim.5:23; 2Tim.4:20) and also Paul himself (2Cor.12:7-10)
22…God is waiting for fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name, but not worship of our hands or legs? (Acts 17:25).
Why then do you dance, what does it give to God? (If David was dancing, it was only once and it was not established in the temple.
David had many wives, would you follow this example?)
